Swatch and Review: Zoya Godiva

20130406-160423.jpg
Zoya Godiva is the third polish in the Zoya Pixie Dust Collection. It’s a very pretty, sandy colored polish. And of course it’s a pixie dust so it is glittery and matte! This polish is perfect for work, because it is glittery and fun, but neutral and somewhat conservative. I wasn’t sure that I would like this polish as much as I did, because I tend to like bright colors better. So if you are like me and love bright colors, but you need a more conservative polish for work, than Zoya Godiva is perfect for you.

    Swatch and Review: Zoya Chyna

    20130404-155638.jpg
Zoya Chyna is the second polish in Zoya’s Pixie Dust Collection. It is a stunning ruby red with textured matte sparkle. They remind me of ruby slippers from the wizard of oz. I’m in love with this polish, because in my opinion, the texture shows even more than it did for Zoya Dahlia. Chyna has a combination of light and dark red glitter that highlights the amazing pixie dust texture when the polish dries. The photo below shows just how unique Chyna’s texture is…

    Swatch and Review: Zoya Dahlia

    20130314-174438.jpg
Today I am reviewing Zoya Dahlia, which is from the new Zoya Pixie Dust Collection. As many of you have probably seen and heard, the pixie dust collection is filled with beautiful textured, matte glitters. They are absolutely stunning! Dahlia is a matte black, packed full with fine glitter. I was expecting it to be very gritty, and it was, but not nearly as bad as I thought. At first it bothered me, because it would scratch against clothing and things, but after a while, I got used to it. Pixie dusts are applied by themselves, with no topcoat, and it is suggested not to use a base coat, but I don’t think it would hurt. I used the PVA glue base coat so I didn’t have to worry about removing that stubborn glitter. What do you think of Zoya Dahlia?

Zoya says…”Zoya Nail Polish in Dahlia can be best described as a black beauty with a sugared sparkle, in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Matte Sparkle formula.”

    Color Family: Black, Gray
Color Finish: PixieDust, Metallic Matte Texture
    Color Intensity: 5 ( 1=Sheer – 5=Opaque )
    Color Tone: Cool, Neutral

Here is some information from Zoya.com about how to apply Zoya Pixie Dusts:

Do not use a base coat or top coat.
Apply 1-3 (for full coverage) thin coats of polish.
Allow product to dry completely in between layers for full effect.

Although, if you are afraid that you’ll stain your nails, I don’t think it would be a big deal if you wore a base coat. Also, this polish didn’t take 10 minutes to dry for me, I would say it took around 5 minutes, but it may be different for others.

    20130314-174429.jpg
    Pros:

  • Beautiful Polish
  • Stunning and Unique “Pixie Dust” Finish
  • Fast Dry Time
  • Makes for a Beautiful Pedicure
  • Fairly Inexpensive
  • Easy Application
  • No Topcoat Needed
  • Lasts Long for Not Having a Top Coat
  • Cons:

  • Harder to Remove than Typical Polishes
  • Rough Texture can be Bothersome at First
  • Doesn’t Last More than a Week Without Chipping (Which isn’t Bad for Having No Topcoat)
  • Grade: A-

Swatch and Review: Urban Outfitters Lollipop (Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop Dupe)

    20130312-175021.jpg
As promised, this is the second Deborah Lippmann dupe I discovered on my shopping trip. This time, Urban Outfitter’s Lollipop is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann’s Candy Shop. I don’t have Candy Shop to compare, but the bottles look similar. Lollipop is a sheer, light pink polish with chunky glitter of different sizes and colors. It is an absolutely beautiful polish, and I LOVE the way it looks on my nails.

    20130312-175100.jpg
Again, as with the last one, the bottle didn’t have a specific brand, but since I bought it at Urban Outfitters, I can assume that it is their own brand. Lollipop took a few coats to become mostly opaque, but still not completely. Though, I do like that it’s slightly sheer, and not fully opaque. What do you think of this polish?

Swatch and Review: Urban Outfitters Bright Lights (Glitter in the Air Dupe)

    20130225-171427.jpg
I have found it! And by “it” I mean a possible Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air Dupe! While I don’t have Glitter in the Air to compare it to, it looks pretty close to me. And the sweetest part, it was only four dollars! That’s right, four dollars! When I dropped by my local Urban Outfitter to look for some accessories, I saw that Nail Polishes were two for eight dollars, so of course I had to take a look. Then I saw it, it’s called bright lights, and it’s amazing! I also got another polish, and I can’t wait to show you, so stay tuned! So here’s the swatches….

    20130225-171439.jpg
The bottle didn’t have a specific brand on it, but I assume it was Urban Outfitter’s own brand. It’s a bit sheer, and it took a couple of coats to get mostly opaque. But I like the effect that creates, it makes that polish look very light, and the chunky rainbow glitter almost reminds me of the circus. I don’t know why, it just does. What do you think of Bright Lights? Isn’t it so pretty?
