Nail Art: Purple and Gold

I’ve been wanting to use some of  those cute little bullion beads I got from ebay, and decided purple would go great with gold. I also used Milani 3D to add more gold accents. I LOVE how great the bullion beads look with the purple polish. I kinda wish I did every nail like that, but I like it this way too. What do you think of this design? Do you like purple and gold?

I used:
Nail Magic Nail Hardener, Seche Clear Base Coat , Orly Charged Up , Milani 3D, Gold Bullion Beads, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Nail Art: Black and White Crackle

For this design, I wanted to go with something simple, so I did a black crackle over white polish. I like how much the white shows through the black. The black crackle polish cracks really well it’s such a cool innovation in nail polish! What do you think of last year’s crackle trend?

I used:
Nail Magic Nail Hardener, Seche Clear Base Coat , China Glaze White Out , China Glaze Black Mesh, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Nail Art: Earth Day 2012

Earth Day is this Sunday, and I decided to do an earth day themed design. I used my Essie Matte About You topcoat to give the design a matte effect. This may be one of my favorites in a while. I used a paint brush rather than a dotting tool for the heart to create a textured effect and I like that a lot. What do you think of the textured heart? Do you have any plans to help our planet this earth day?

I used:
Nail Magic Nail Hardener, Seche Clear Base Coat , Zoya Phoebe, Black Acrylic Paint, Red Acrylic Paint, Light Blue Acrylic Paint, Lime Green Acrylic Paint, Orly Coffee Break, Small Nail Art Brush, Dotting Tools, Essie Matte About You .

Nail Art: 3 Petal Flowers

For this design, I wanted something cute and spring-y (if that makes sense). So instead of the traditional five petal flower, I decided to go for an unconventional 3 petal flower. I really like how it turned out, very cute as I wanted. I used the colors for the petals for the dots as well and that turned out great! What do you think of the 3 petal flower?

I used:
Nail Magic Nail Hardener, Seche Clear Base Coat , Essence A Hint of Mint, Zoya Shawn, Zoya Tru, Zoya Areej, Dotting Tool , and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Review and Giveaway: Jamberry Nail Shields

I recieved a sample of Jamberry Nail Shields from the lovely TJ to review. There are so many designs available, I got the design “pink butterfly.” Isn’t it cute!? I love this design, it’s very girly, but if you don’t like “girly” designs, there is plenty more to choose from. You can go to http://nomorenailpolish.com to see the other designs.

Jamberry says “Jamberry Nails Shields are solid firm coverings that can be applied directly to the nail to achieve a look not found anywhere else.”

My favorite part of these nail shields are the amount of designs that are available, plus they add new ones quite often. The website states that their are “Over 250+ designs and more being added each month.” Each design is $15 and comes with instructions and 18 shields. Although I cut each shield in half, so it’s good for 2 manicures! At first I didn’t like that you have to apply heat to it, though I think it’s worth it.

Pros:

  • Over 250 designs
  • Can be used for 2 manicures
  • $15 for two manicures
  • No topcoat needed
  • Pretty pliable even before applying heat

Cons:

  • Need to apply heat
  • A little hard to file off the excess
  • The adhesive needs to be a little more sticky in my opinion

Grade: B
